| Description | LBP-14 is a peptide and a synthetic fragment of LPS-binding protein (LBP), also functioning as an LPS antagonist. It interacts with LPS through electrostatic attraction between arginine/lysine residues and LPS phosphate groups, as well as hydrophobic interactions between aromatic/aliphatic residues and LPS acyl chains, thus blocking the binding of LPS to LBP. LBP-14 can moderately inhibit the production of TNF-α stimulated by LPS. It is useful for research related to Gram-negative bacterial sepsis. |
| In vitro | LBP-14 (50 μM; 1 h) can moderately inhibit the production of TNF-α in LPS-induced human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) derived from the buffy coat. |
