Bioactivity
Description
CKS-17, a synthetic retroviral envelope peptide, embodies conserved amino acid sequences found in the transmembrane envelope proteins of various animal and human retroviruses. This immunomodulatory epitope exerts suppressive effects on a range of immune functions [1] [2] [3].
In vitro
CKS-17 stimulates elevated intracellular cAMP levels in THP-1 cells by activating adenylate cyclase [1].
In vivo
CKS-17, at a concentration of 10 μM and administered intradermally, suppresses delayed-type hypersensitivity responses to sheep erythrocytes in the hind paws of B6AF1 and C57BL/6J mice [2].
