AT-051/43421517 is a cytoprotective agent and apoptosis inhibitor that binds to human phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (hPgk1). It safeguards cells against rotenone-induced cell death without promoting cell proliferation. AT-051/43421517 is applicable in Parkinson's disease research.
In vitro
AT-051/43421517 binds with purified human phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (hPgk1) and has a ChemScore of 33.379. It occupies the same binding site as terazosin and forms characteristic hydrophobic interactions with key residues of hPgk1. At a concentration of 10 μM for 48 hours, AT-051/43421517 protects PC12 cells from rotenone-induced cell death, increasing cell survival to 87.97% compared to the control group, without inducing cell proliferation.
