Description | Antibacterial agent 60 is a potent compound that effectively reduces the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of Ceftazidime, an antibacterial agent. |
In vitro | Antibacterial agent 60 (example 26) markedly reduces the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values for Ceftazidime, demonstrating enhanced antibacterial efficacy against various strains of E. coli (MIC=1, 1, 8 mcg/ml for strains NCTC 1335 1, M50, and 7MP, respectively). Similarly, Antibacterial agent 58 substantially decreases the MIC values of Ceftazidime across different Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBL) classes, ranging from 0.25 to 4 mcg/ml for Class A ESBL; 1-8 mcg/ml for Class C ESBL; 1-4 mcg/ml for KPC ESBL; and showing significant activity against class D ESBL strains A.Baumannii 13301 and A.baumannii 13304 with MIC values of 16 and >32 respectively. The corresponding organisms for Class A ESBL include E.coli strains W 13353, W3351, and W 13352; for Class C, E.coli strains M 50, 7 MIP, and B 89; for KPC ESBL, K.pneumoniae strains H 520, H 521, and H 522; and for Class D ESBL, A.Baumannii strains 13301 and 13304 (From WO2013030735A1, example 26). |
