Description | Antibacterial Agent 58 (AA58) is a potent antibacterial compound that effectively reduces the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of Ceftazidime, another antibacterial agent. |
In vitro | Antibacterial agent 58 (example 23), as detailed in WO2013030735A1, significantly reduces the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values for Ceftazidime across various E. coli strains and K. pneumoniae. Specifically, for E. coli strains NCTC 13351, M50, and 7MP, the MIC values decrease to 1, 2, and 8 mcg/ml, respectively. Moreover, agent 58 lowers Ceftazidime's MIC to 0.2~2 mcg/ml for class A ESBL (E.coli W 13353, W3351, W 13352), 2-8 mcg/ml for class C ESBL (E.coli M 50, 7 MIP, B 89), and 4-8 mcg/ml for KPC ESBL (K.pneumoniae H 520, H 521, H 522), enhancing Ceftazidime’s efficacy against these bacteria. |
