Tris(3-hydroxypropyltriazolylmethyl)amine (THPTA) serves as an accelerating ligand in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAC), shielding cells from oxidative damage caused by reactive oxygen species generated by copper-catalyzed ascorbate reduction. In addition, Tris(3-hydroxypropyltriazolylmethyl)amine protects the histidine components of biomolecules in a manner proportional to the ligand concentration.
