SRD5A1-IN-2 is a steroid 5α-reductase type 1 (SRD5A1) inhibitor with an IC50 of 8.5 μM. It decreases the expression of the SRD5A1 protein in HaCaT cells and reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in these cells. This compound may be utilized in the study of androgen-related disorders such as androgenetic alopecia (AGA).

| In vitro | SRD5A1-IN-2 (Compound 10a) exhibits cytotoxicity in HaCaT cells with an LC₅₀ of 21.31 μM. At a concentration of 10 μM over 24 hours, it inhibits the activity of steroid 5α-reductase type 1 (SRD5A1) with an IC₅₀ of 8.5 μM and reduces dihydrotestosterone (DHT) production. Additionally, SRD5A1-IN-2 significantly decreases the expression of SRD5A1 protein in HaCaT cells at concentrations ranging from 2.5 to 15 μM over 24 hours. |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 μL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
