| Description | Meglitinide is an ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channel inhibitor with IC50 values of 0.26 μM for SUR1, 0.53 μM for SUR2A, and 1.6 μM for SUR2B. It exhibits a Kd of 7 μM for SUR1 and SUR2A, and 8 μM for SUR2B, binding with high affinity to the SUR1, SUR2A, and SUR2B subunits to close KATP channels. It targets a binding site common to all SUR isoforms, and its interaction with the SUR1 subunit carrying the S1237Y mutation remains unchanged. Meglitinide is applicable in research related to type 2 diabetes. |
| In vitro | Meglitinide effectively blocks recombinant Kir6.2/SUR1, Kir6.2/SUR2A, and Kir6.2/SUR2B K ATP channels with similar affinity, showing IC50 values ranging from 0.26 to 1.6 μM for different channel subtypes. |
