| Description | Guattegaumerine, a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid, exhibits antimitotic, cytotoxic, and neuroprotective activities. |
| In vitro | Gauttegaumerine administration (1.25-6.25 μM; 24 hours; 30 min before exposure to serum-starvation+H2O2) notably enhances cell viability at concentrations of 1.25 and 2.5μM. Pretreatment with guattegaumerine also significantly reduces LDH efflux[1]. At a concentration of 2.5 μM and the same pretreatment duration, guattegaumerine substantially diminishes oxidative stress-induced apoptosis in rat cortical neurons compared to the control group[1]. Furthermore, guattegaumerine, at doses ranging from 1.25 to 2.5 μM, effectively lowers the increase in Ca[2+]i prompted by H2O2 and KCl in cortical neurons[1]. |

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO stock solution to 400 μL PEG300 and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2O and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
