Description
Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate is an organic compound containing a hydroxyl group and an ester group, used in biochemical experiments and drug synthesis research.
In vitro
Methods: CVB-infected HeLa cells were treated with ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate (1.2, 4, 6, 8, 16, 32 μM) and the virus was quantified using the TCID50 assay.
Results: Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate (EHX) effectively inhibited the intracellular and intercellular replication of CVB at low concentrations. [1]
In vivo
Methods: Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate (250 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection, twice a day) was used to treat virus-infected mice, and the changes in body weight of each mouse were measured daily.
Results: Ethyl 3-hydroxyhexanoate effectively inhibited CVB replication in vivo. [1]
