Empasiprubart (ARGX-117) is a humanized inhibitory monoclonal antibody that targets the complement component C2. by binding with high affinity to the Sushi-2 domain of C2, it prevents the formation of the C3 proconvertase complex and thereby inhibits classical and lectin pathway activation upstream of C3, demonstrating efficacy in models of complement-mediated autoimmune hemolytic anemia and antibody-mediated organ transplant rejection.
