| In vivo | Pirfenidone, administered at a dosage of 300 mg/kg/day for four weeks, effectively reduces the severity of symptoms in Bleomycin (BLM)-treated mice (P<0.0001). To assess Pirfenidone's anti-fibrotic effects, lung collagen content is measured. BLM-treated mice exhibit a marked increase in lung collagen compared to saline- or Pirfenidone-treated mice, an increase significantly mitigated by Pirfenidone by day 28 post-BLM treatment (P=0.0012). |
