Description
Chitosan hydrochloride (80%-90% deacetylated) (Chitosan HCl 80%-90% deacetylated) is a hydrochloride salt derivative of chitosan. This 80%-90% deacetylated polysaccharide, derived from chitin, exhibits antibacterial activity against a variety of bacteria and fungi. Chitosan hydrochloride (80%-90% deacetylated) is widely used in agriculture, water treatment, and the pharmaceutical industry.
In vitro
Method: Chitosan hydrochloride (80%-90% deacetylated) with a molecular weight of approximately 60 kDa was incorporated into liquid or agar culture media at 0.01–1% and tested against Fusarium graminearum using growth-inhibition and agar-diffusion assays.
Result: One percent chitosan hydrochloride completely inhibited fungal growth in liquid culture; lower concentrations inhibited growth by approximately 53–87%, while agar-medium and diffusion assays also showed concentration-dependent inhibition.[1]

Stock Solution Preparation:

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSOTargetMol | reagent to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 µL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
