Description
Antifungal agent 59 exhibits potent activity, reflected by MIC values ranging from 0.01 to 1 μg/mL, and inhibits the formation of fungal biofilms, while maintaining safety [1].
In vitro
Antifungal agent 59 (compound A23) exhibits in vitro antifungal activity with MIC values of 0.02 μg/mL and 0.01 μg/mL against Candida albicans, 0.25 μg/mL against both Candida milleri and Cryptococcus neoformans, 0.06 μg/mL against Candida krusei, and 1 μg/mL against Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis, and Aspergillus fumigatus [1]. Additionally, at a concentration of 0.02 μg/mL, it effectively eradicates Candida albicans after 48 hours [1]. The compound also demonstrates hemolytic activity against rabbit erythrocytes at concentrations of 1-16 μg/mL, with a 93.47% hemolysis rate at 8 μg/mL [1].
