Description
UHMCP1 is a chemical probe of the U2AF homology motif (UHM), with a dissociation constant (Kd) of 79 μM. It inhibits the interaction between SF3b155 and U2AF65, affecting RNA splicing and cell viability. UHMCP1 also possesses potential anticancer properties.
In vitro
UHMCP1 (25-400 μM) decreases the binding affinity of purified U2AF 65 to SF3b155 by 75%, following a straightforward, non-cooperative binding mechanism with a dissociation constant (K d) of approximately 30 μM for U2AF 65. Additionally, UHMCP1 (0-200 μM; 24 h) impacts the cell viability of HEK293 cells.
