| Description | SL antagonist 1 acts as a strigolactones antagonist, interacting strongly with SL receptor proteins to combat parasitic root weed invasion. It does not have any adverse effects on the germination of rice seeds or the growth and development of seedlings. |
| In vitro | SL antagonist 1 (0-320 μM; 11-17 days) significantly reduces the germination rate of Phelipanche aegyptiaca and Striga Yorktica seeds when used in conjunction with GR24. At lower concentrations (0-10 μM; 7 days), SL antagonist 1 promotes elongation of abaxial epidermal cells in both wild-type and Max2-1 mutant Arabidopsis thaliana, suggesting its potential as an SL receptor inhibitor. Additionally, SL antagonist 1 alleviates the inhibitory effects of GR24 on epidermal cell elongation, indicating its role in modifying SL-mediated physiological responses. SL antagonist 1 exhibits stronger binding affinity to the receptor protein ShHTL7 and higher receptor affinity for Arabidopsis thaliana D14 than KK094. |
