Pisiferic acid is a diterpene antibacterial agent isolated from Chamaecyparis pisifera. This product exhibits potent inhibitory activity against various Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis, with MIC values typically ranging from 1.56 to 12.5 µg/mL. Additionally, it shows moderate inhibitory effects against certain Gram-negative bacteria, such as Proteus vulgaris. It serves as a pharmacological tool for researching natural antibiotics and their structure-activity relationships.
