| Description | Oxathiapiprolin is an anti-oomycete agent used against plant pathogenic oomycetes. It inhibits mycelial growth, sporangia production, zoospore release, and zoospore motility in specific oomycetes. Oxathiapiprolin offers both protective and curative activity against Phytophthora capsici infection in pepper plants. It is utilized in research related to plant diseases. |
| In vitro | Oxathiapiprolin effectively inhibits the mycelial growth of Phytophthora capsici within a duration of 0-5 days, with an EC₅₀ of 6.78 × 10⁻⁴ μg/mL. In the span of 0-48 hours, it also significantly suppresses the production of sporangia of Phytophthora capsici, showing an EC₅₀ of 1.29 × 10⁻⁵ μg/mL. Furthermore, oxathiapiprolin inhibits the release of zoospores of Phytophthora capsici at concentrations of 0-10 μg/mL in 1 hour, with an EC₅₀ of 4.38 μg/mL. Additionally, at concentrations of 1 μg/mL and above, oxathiapiprolin (1-10 μg/mL; 10 min) impairs the motility of the zoospores. For Peronospora cubensis, oxathiapiprolin effectively inhibits mycelial development over 0-8 days, with an EC₅₀ of 3.10 × 10⁻⁴ μg/mL, and suppresses zoospore release with an EC₅₀ of 0.13 μg/mL. |
| In vivo | Oxathiapiprolin (20-30 g/ha; spray) demonstrates a dose-dependent protective and curative activity against pepper late blight under greenhouse conditions. In field conditions, oxathiapiprolin (active ingredient 20-40 g per hectare; spray; applied twice per season) exhibits dose-dependent control of naturally occurring pepper late blight. |
