| Description | NIP 502 is a diazinone derivative that exhibits oral anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It is useful for research related to asthma. |
| In vitro | NIP 502 (30-300 μM, 5 mins) significantly induces superoxide anion production in guinea pig alveolar macrophages when stimulated by FMLP. |
| In vivo | NIP-502, when administered orally at doses of 3-10 mg/kg one hour before antigen challenge, suppresses antigen-induced immediate asthmatic reactions in passively sensitized guinea pigs. At a dosage of 30 mg/kg given orally one hour before each ovalbumin aerosol inhalation, NIP-502 inhibits the increase of macrophages, eosinophils, and neutrophils in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of guinea pigs induced by ovalbumin. Additionally, oral administration of NIP-502 at 30-50 mg/kg one hour before antigen challenge suppresses passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in rats. |
