MitoA (bromide) is a mitochondrial-targeting probe for H2S that can be used to assess relative changes in mitochondrial H2S levels in vivo. Due to the presence of the triphenylphosphonium (TPP) cation, MitoA (bromide) accumulates within mitochondria in tissues in vivo. It is useful for studying myocardial ischemia.
