Description
Macrophage-activating lipopeptide 2 (MALP-2) is a lipopeptide that acts as an agonist for Toll-like receptors TLR-2 and TLR-6. It enhances the phosphorylation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and the release of nitric oxide (NO) by endothelial cells, thereby improving vasodilation. Additionally, MALP-2 increases the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium and enhances perfusion recovery and collateral growth in the hind limbs of hypercholesterolemic Apoe-deficient mice subjected to experimental femoral artery ligation (FAL).
In vitro
Macrophage-activating lipopeptide 2 (1 µg/mL, 24 h) enhances the expression of primary endothelial adhesion molecules and leukocyte integrin receptors, thereby improving leukocyte endothelial adhesion. Additionally, Macrophage-activating lipopeptide 2 (1 µg/mL, 2 h) promotes the phosphorylation of Protein Kinase B and eNOS in endothelial MyEnd cells, facilitating the release of nitric oxide (NO).
In vivo
Macrophage-activating lipopeptide 2 (1 µg dissolved in 125 µL PBS; administered daily; for 10 days; via intravenous injection) enhances perfusion recovery and collateral growth in the hind limbs of hypercholesterolemic Apoe knockout mice subjected to experimental femoral artery ligation (FAL).

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 μL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 μL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 μL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
