| Description | H-Ile-Ala-OH (Ile-Ala; L-Isoleucyl-L-alanine) is a linear aliphatic dipeptide and self-reactive cyclization agent that can self-assemble into amorphous films or spherical structures from certain solvents. It serves as a precursor for synthesizing the cyclic peptide cyclo(L-isoleucyl-L-alanine). When heated above 206°C, H-Ile-Ala-OH undergoes a solid-state cyclization reaction, with the onset temperature closely linked to the size of the side-chain substituents. |
| In vitro | L-isoleucyl-L-alanine (4 mg; 206 °C) can induce a self-catalytic cyclization reaction to form cyclo(L-Ile-L-Ala), with an average activation energy of 223.16 kJ/mol, adhering to an optimal fit of the autocatalytic kinetic model. When deposited on HOPG surfaces, L-isoleucyl-L-alanine (1-20 mg/mL) self-assembles into amorphous films in 2 mg/mL HFIP solution and 1 mg/mL methanol solution, while forming spherical aggregates in a 20 mg/mL HFIP solution. |
