| Description | Gramicidin S analogue 9 is an antimicrobial agent that functions as a cyclic peptide analogue, capable of disrupting bacterial cell membranes. It is also utilized in research involving methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections. |
| In vitro | Gramicidin S analogue 9, at concentrations ranging from 0.125 to 256 μg/mL and within an action time of 16 to 24 hours, effectively inhibits the growth of MSSA ATCC 29213 and MRSA ATCC USA300, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2 μg/mL. The half-maximal hemolytic concentration (HC50) in human red blood cells is 39.31 μg/mL, while the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) in HEK-293 cells is 22.36 μg/mL, resulting in a therapeutic index of 19.66. |
