Description

Demeton-S-methyl sulfone undergoes cleavage of the thioester bond, producing ethyl mercaptan that can be converted into S-methylated compounds or S-glucosides.
In vitro
Demeton-S-methyl sulfone (40 ppm; 3-17 days) is a metabolite produced from methyl demeton-sulfoxide by cell suspension cultures of beets (Beta vulgaris L.). This compound accounted for 16.5% of the total recovered radioactivity over the incubation period, peaking at 60% of recovery when the parent compound was incubated at a concentration of 40 ppm for 3 days, after which it was further metabolized into other products.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSOTargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 µL PEG300TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2OTargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
