Cardiogen is a short-chain bioactive peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg) that does not bind to single-stranded deoxyoligonucleotides. It can slightly quench the fluorescence of some double-stranded deoxyoligonucleotides and strongly quench the fluorescence of methylated and non-methylated λ phage DNA-ethidium bromide complexes.

Cardiogen does not bind with single-stranded homogeneous oligonucleotides or GC-rich oligonucleotides, showing only a weak interaction with a singular double-stranded oligonucleotide (FAM-GCG GCG TGATCA GCG GCG), with a Stern-Volmer constant of 0.34 × 10 [4]. Cardiogen exhibits stronger binding interactions with both unmethylated and methylated λ phage DNA-EB complexes compared to other tested peptides, with Stern-Volmer constants of 3.0 × 10 [4] (unmethylated) and 2.8 × 10 [4] (methylated).

Stock Solution Preparation:

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO TargetMol | reagent to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.

Preparation of the In Vivo Formulation:

1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO TargetMol | reagent stock solution to 400 µL PEG300 and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.

2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.

3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH₂O TargetMol | reagent and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
