| Description | 'N,N'-Dimethylhydrazine (1,2-Dimethylhydrazine) dihydrochloride functions as a tumor inducer, specifically inducing colon tumors in rodents, as evidenced by references [1] [2]. |
| In vivo | N,N'-Dimethylhydrazine (DMH) administered subcutaneously at 20 mg/kg weekly for 24 weeks induces colon cancer in ICR mice. Similarly, in male inbred F344 rats, a dosage of 20 mg in 4 mg/mL normal saline with 1.5% EDTA (pH 6.4) given subcutaneously for 20 or 35 weeks leads to a higher incidence of intestinal adenocarcinomas, particularly in rats fed a meat-based "Western" diet rather than a grain-based diet, with colon cancer occurrence rates of 83% and 31%, respectively [1][2]. In rats, this tumor-inducing effect is effectively inhibited by Lactobacillus acidophilus. |
