Description | Gatipotuzumab (PankoMab), a humanized monoclonal antibody, targets the tumor-specific epitope TA-MUC1 of mucin-1 and exhibits potent tumor-specific antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC) [1] [2]. |
In vitro | Gatipotuzumab (PankoMab) exhibits strong binding to a short MUC1 peptide consisting of 1.5 tandem repeats (TRs) of 30 amino acids when the T-site of the PDTRP sequence is glycosylated with GalNAcα, but does not bind to the same peptide if it is not glycosylated [2]. This compound demonstrates high affinity for tumor cells (with KD values of 0.91, 3.03, 3.84, and 7.14 nM for NM-D4, ZR75-1, MCF-7, and T-47D cells respectively) after 1 hour [2]. Additionally, Gatipotuzumab (PankoMab) (at 0-5 μg/mL for 4 hours) displays specific antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxic activity against tumor cells [2]. |
