Description
Anti-inflammatory agent 86 is a derivative of Chrysin with anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits TNF-α-induced monocyte adhesion to colon epithelium, with an IC50 of 4.71 μM. Anti-inflammatory agent 86 shows potential for use in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research.
In vitro
Anti-inflammatory agent 86 (Compound 4b) significantly inhibits TNF-α-induced monocyte adhesion to HT-29 cells, with an IC₅₀ of 4.71 μM. At concentrations of 5-10 μM over 4 hours, it markedly suppresses MCP-1 expression in a concentration-dependent manner. Additionally, Anti-inflammatory agent 86 inhibits NF-κB activity and TNF-α-induced ROS production in a dose-dependent manner in HT-29 cells.
In vivo
The compound, referred to as Anti-inflammatory agent 86 (30-60 mg/kg; oral administration; once daily; for 15 consecutive days), demonstrates the most significant efficacy in treating TNBS-induced colitis.
