AD-mix-α is an organic compound mixture commonly employed to distinguish and identify asymmetric carbon atoms in chiral compounds. It consists of catalyst-active metal-containing compounds and chiral ligands. AD-mix-α is extensively used in various organic synthesis reactions, including hydrogenation, addition, and carbonylation, to enhance yield and minimize by-products. Although it lacks direct applications in medicine, it plays a crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry and chemical research.
