| Research Background | Encapsidates the genome in a ratio of one N per nine ribonucleotides, protecting it from nucleases. The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the NC and serves as template for transcription and replication. Replication is dependent on intracellular concentration of newly synthesized N, termed N(0), which corresponds to the protein not associated with RNA. In contrast, when associated with RNA, it is termed N. During replication, encapsidation by N(0) is coupled to RNA synthesis and all replicative products are resistant to nucleases. |

| Shipping | In general, lyophilized powders are shipped with blue ice, while solutions are shipped with dry ice. |
| Storage | Lyophilized powders can be stably stored for over 12 months, while liquid products can be stored for 6-12 months at -80°C. For reconstituted protein solutions, the solution can be stored at -20°C to -80°C for at least 3 months. Please avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles and store products in aliquots. |
