Verified Activity
Immunofluorescence staining of V5-Tag in Hela cells, transfected with pSTEP2-V5-mFABP4-his (Figure A), pSTEP2-mFABP4-V5-his (Figure B), pSTEP2-V5-ARG1-his (Figure C) and pSTEP2-his-ARG1-V5 (Figure D). Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with Mouse anti-V5-Tag monoclonal antibody at 37°C 1 hour. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated Goat Anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody (green) and counterstained with DAPI (blue).

Research BackgroundThe V5 epitope tag has a 14-amino-acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) which is derived from simian parainfluenza virus type 5 (SV5). The V5 epitope tag is used to label a protein of interest so that the tagged protein can be analyzed and visualized. Anti-V5 epitope tag antibody products recognize and detect V5-tagged proteins without a protein-specific antibody or probe in several immunochemical assays such as Western Blotting, ELISAs and immunostaining techniques.
