| Description | Anti-Transferrin Receptor/TFRC Antibody (6G357) is a Mouse antibody targeting Transferrin Receptor/TFRC. Anti-Transferrin Receptor/TFRC Antibody (6G357) can be used in FCM,ICC/IF. |
| Synonyms | transferrin receptor |
| Ig Type | Mouse IgG1 |
| Clone | 6G357 |
| Reactivity | Human |
| Specificity | Human Transferrin Receptor/TFR1/CD71 |
| Verified Activity | 1. Flow cytometric analysis of Human TFRC(CD71) expression on U937 cells. Cells were stained with purified anti-Human TFRC(CD71), then a FITC-conjugated second step antibody. The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact cells. 2. Immunofluorescence staining of CD71 in Hela cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with mouse anti-Human CD71 monoclonal antibody (1:60) at 4°C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated Goat Anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody (green) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). |

| Construction | This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Human Transferrin Receptor / TFRC / CD71 (rh Transferrin Receptor / TFRC / CD71; TMPY-01873; AAA61153.1; Cys89-Phe760). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. |

| Research Background | Transferrin receptor protein 1, also known as transferrin receptor, Trfr, p9, CD71 and TFRC, is a single-pass type II membrane protein that belongs to the peptidase M28 family and M28B subfamily. TFRC / CD71 is a membrane-bound protein expressed in larger amounts in proliferating. The specific expression of TFRC can represent a diagnostic tool or a therapeutic target in solid tumours expressing this antigen. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system. TFRC / CD71 is regulated by cellular iron levels through binding of the iron regulatory proteins, IRP1 and IRP2, to iron-responsive elements in the 3'-UTR. Up-regulated upon mitogenic stimulation. TFRC / CD71 represents a marker of malignant transformation in the pancreas that could be applied as potential diagnostic and therapeutic target. |
