| Verified Activity | 1. Blank control: A549. Primary Antibody (green line): Rabbit Anti-MKLP1 antibody (TMAB-08841) Dilution: 2ul/Test; Secondary Antibody: Goat anti-rabbit IgG-FITC Dilution: 0.5 μg/Test. Protocol The cells were fixed with 4% PFA (10 min at room temperature) and then permeabilized with 90% ice-cold methanol for 20 min at room temperature. The cells were then incubated in 5% BSA to block non-specific protein-protein interactions for 30 min at room temperature. Cells stained with Primary Antibody for 30 min at room temperature. The secondary antibody used for 40 min at room temperature. Acquisition of 20,000 events was performed. 2. Sample: Lane 1: Rat Lymph node tissue lysates Lane 2: Rat Cerebrum tissue lysates Lane 3: Rat Testis tissue lysates Primary: Anti-MKLP1 (TMAB-08841) at 1/1000 dilution Secondary: IRDye800CW Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG at 1/20000 dilution Predicted band size: 110 kDa Observed band size: 100 kDa |

| Research Background | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of kinesin-like protein family. This family includes microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. This protein has been shown to cross-bridge antiparallel microtubules and drive microtubule movement in vitro. Alternate splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms. |

| Function | Component of the centralspindlin complex that serves as a microtubule-dependent and Rho-mediated signaling required for the myosin contractile ring formation during the cell cycle cytokinesis. Essential for cytokinesis in Rho-mediated signaling. Required for the localization of ECT2 to the central spindle. Plus-end-directed motor enzyme that moves antiparallel microtubules in vitro. |
