| Verified Activity | 1. 25 μg total protein per lane of various lysates (see on figure) probed with CENPC1 monoclonal antibody, unconjugated (TMAB-04225) at 1:1000 dilution and 4°C overnight incubation. Followed by conjugated secondary antibody incubation at r. T. for 60 min. 2. 4% Paraformaldehyde-fixed K562 (H) cell; Triton X-100 at r. T. for 20 min; Antibody incubation with (CENPC1) monoclonal Antibody, unconjugated (TMAB-04225) 1:100, 90 min at 37°C; followed by conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG antibody (green) at 37°C for 90 min, DAPI (blue) was used to stain the cell nuclei. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the blank control. |

| Research Background | Centromere protein C 1 is a centromere autoantigen and a component of the inner kinetochore plate. The protein is required for maintaining proper kinetochore size and a timely transition to anaphase. A putative pseudogene exists on chromosome 12. |
| Immunogen | A synthesized peptide: human CENPC |
| Antigen Species | Human |

| Gene ID | |
| Protein Name | Centromere protein C |
| Uniprot ID | |
| Function | Component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, a complex that plays a central role in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex and may be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres. CENPC recruits DNA methylation and DNMT3B to both centromeric and pericentromeric satellite repeats and regulates the histone code in these regions. |
