Description | Anti-CD5 Antibody (7D487) is a Mouse antibody targeting CD5. Anti-CD5 Antibody (7D487) can be used in FCM. |
Alias | T1, LEU1, CD5 molecule |
Ig Type | Monoclonal Mouse IgG1 |
Clone | 7D487 |
Reactivity | Rat |
Verified Activity | Flow cytometric analysis of Rat CD5 expression on SD rat splenocytes. Cells were stained with purified anti-Rat CD5, then a 488-conjugated second step antibody. The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact cells. |
Application | FCM |
Recommended Dose | FCM: 1:25-1:100 |
Antibody Type | Monoclonal |
Host Species | Mouse |
Construction | This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant Rat CD5 / Cluster of Differentiation 5 (rR CD5 / Cluster of Differentiation 5; TMPY-03169; P51882; Met1-Pro368). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. |
Purification | Protein A |
Appearance | Liquid |
Formulation | 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS |
Research Background | The cluster of differentiation (CD) system is commonly used as cell markers in Immunophenotyping. Different kinds of cells in the immune system can be identified through the surface CD molecules associating with the immune function of the cell. There are more than 320 CD unique clusters and subclusters have been identified. Some of the CD molecules serve as receptors or ligands important to the cell through initiating a signal cascade which then alter the behavior of the cell. Some CD proteins do not take part in cell signal process but have other functions such as cell adhesion. CD5 is a member of the CD system. CD5 was found to be widely distributed in T-cells and B1 cells which is a subset of IgM-secreting B cells. CD5 also was found expressed in small lymphocytic lymphoma, hairy cell leukaemia and mantle cell lymphoma cells. CD5 serves to weaken the activating stimulus from the BCR so that the B1 cells can only reflect to the very strong stimuli but not the normal tissue proteins. |
