In vitro
In antiparasitic assays, MMV03 inhibited the growth of Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain with an EC50 of 0.6 μM. Selectivity assays using human MRC-5 fibroblasts showed an EC50 > 15 μM (selectivity index > 25), indicating efficacy against the parasite at concentrations well below those causing host cell toxicity [1].
