| Description | Fluazaindolizine is a fluorinated nematicide. In vitro, it induces the mortality of second-stage juveniles (J2) of Meloidogyne incognita (southern root-knot nematode) and Tylenchulus semipenetrans (citrus nematode). Fluazaindolizine impacts the parasitic abilities of plant-parasitic nematodes and is utilized in research related to plant parasitic nematode infections. |
| In vitro | Fluazaindolizine efficiently induces mortality of Southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) J2 juveniles in vitro, with an LC50 of 177.1 mg/L, at concentrations of 100-600 mg/L over 24-72 hours. For the J2 stage of the citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans), the LC50 is 355.2 mg/L, at concentrations of 100-1600 mg/L over the same period. With mixed stages of the lesion nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus), fluazaindolizine causes weak mortality in vitro, with an LC50 of 1187.5 mg/L, using 125-1000 mg/L concentrations over 24-72 hours. Furthermore, it weakly induces mortality in the J2 stage of the sugar beet cyst nematode (Heterodera schachtii), with an LC50 of 1019.3 mg/L under the same concentration and time conditions. The compound also increases J2 mortality in Southern root-knot nematode hatched from treated egg masses at 500 mg/L over 3-6 days, inhibiting hatching only at 400 and 500 mg/L, the maximum tested concentrations. |
