Description | Curcumin monoglucoside is a flavonoid derivative with antioxidant, anti-apoptotic (Apoptosis), neuroprotective, and antibacterial properties. It can be utilized in research related to Parkinson's disease. |
In vitro | Curcumin monoglucoside (5 µM; 24 h) exerts anti-apoptotic effects in N27 cells by inhibiting the activation of caspase 3 through the suppression of JNK and c-jun phosphorylation [1]. Additionally, Curcumin monoglucoside (0.25-5 µM; 24 h) provides significant neuroprotection to N27 cells against ROT (500 nM; 24 h)-induced neuronal death [1]. It also displays antibacterial activity with MIC values of 5, 5, and 10 μg/mL against penicillin-sensitive, penicillin-intermediate, and penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae strains, respectively [2]. |
In vivo | In the ROT fruit fly model, curcumin monoglucoside (500 µM) exhibits antioxidant properties by increasing GSH levels and reducing ROS [1]. |
