Antibacterialagent 313 (Compound 20) is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. It demonstrates potent inhibitory effects against Gram-positive bacteria, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.125 μg/mL for Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 29213) and MIC values between 0.125-0.5 μg/mL for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) clinical isolates. Additionally, Antibacterialagent 313 also shows inhibitory activity against certain Gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), with an MIC of 3.03 μg/mL. The compound exhibits low cytotoxicity to CHO-K1 cells, with an IC50 value of 9 μg/mL, making it a useful candidate for bacterial infection research.
