| Description | 3-Hydroxyphloretin is a natural dihydrochalcone compound mainly found in plants such as Malus doumeri var. formosana. 3-Hydroxyphloretin inhibits tyrosinase, thereby reducing melanin production, showing potential application prospects in skin whitening and pigmentation-related research. In addition, 3-Hydroxyphloretin also possesses certain antibacterial activity and can be used for screening and development of antibacterial functional molecules. |
| In vitro | Method: 3-Hydroxyphloretin was produced by hydrolysis of purified 3-hydroxyphlorizin, structurally identified by LC-ESI-MS and NMR, and tested in DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging assays and MTT assays using five cancer cell lines.
Result: 3-Hydroxyphloretin showed the strongest antioxidant activity among the seven tested dihydrochalcones, whereas its cancer-cell cytotoxicity was weaker than that of sieboldin and 3-hydroxyphlorizin.[1] |

Dissolve 2 mg of the compound in 100 μL DMSO
to obtain a stock solution at a concentration of 20 mg/mL . If the required concentration exceeds the compound's known solubility, please contact us for technical support before proceeding.
1) Add 100 μL of the DMSO
stock solution to 400 µL PEG300
and mix thoroughly until the solution becomes clear.
2) Add 50 µL Tween 80 and mix well until fully clarified.
3) Add 450 µL Saline,PBS or ddH2O
and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
