Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are members of a nonsteroidal drug class that reduces pain, decreases fever, prevents blood clots, and in higher doses, decreases inflammation. There have been more than one hundred of NSAIDs within about a thousand of brand names on the market since Aspirin was first synthesized in 1898. NSAIDs, including aspirin, indomethacin, naproxen, nabumetone, diclofenac, ibuprofen, Nimesulide, Rofecoxib, Celecoxib, etc., act by inhibiting COX, thereby reducing prostaglandin formation, and have been largely applied to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and tendonitis and used to reduce fever or relieve minor aches caused by the common cold.
TargetMol’s Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Compound Library collects 530 non-steroidal anti-inflammatory related compounds that can be used for anti-inflammatory related pharmacological studies and drug development.
